The Hooker Glacier ( English Hooker Glacier ) is one of several glaciers on the slopes of the Aoraki / Mount Cook in the New Zealand Alps on the South Island of New Zealand .
Although smaller than its neighbor, the Tasman Glacier , it is still impressive at 11 km in length. The glacier is located on the southwest slope of Aoraki / Mount Cook and forms the source of the Hooker River , a small tributary of the Tasman River that flows into Lake Pukaki . It is one of the most easily accessible glaciers in New Zealand and can be seen from the start of the Copland Track near Aoraki / Mount Cook .
