The Hopfenbach ( Low German Hoppenbeek ) is a not quite six kilometers long left tributary of the Hunnau in the urban area of Ahrensburg in the Schleswig-Holstein district of Stormarn .
course
The Hopfenbach begins its course in the Stellmoor-Ahrensburg Tunneltal south of Ahrensburg at a pond on the northeast side of the Brauner Hirsch road; on the other side of the street is the Stellmoorer spring river flowing in the opposite direction .
The Hopfenbach initially flows north-northeast and soon enters a forest area. South of the route of the U1 line of the Hamburg subway, it reaches a moor where it turns east parallel to this traffic route. On the southern edge of the development of central Ahrensburg, it crosses the railway at the Ahrensburg Ost underground station, which was previously named after it, and then flows in an arc that runs just inside the east ring along the edge of the development, finally towards the north-northwest. Near the end of the Sommerpark street, it joins the Hunnau after 5.7 km from the left.
