The rolled up zymous inflorescence is terminal and has no bracts . The almost radially symmetrical flowers are hermaphroditic. The two to four sepals are fused and end in unequal calyx tips; the cup remains on the fruit. The eleven to fourteen petals , which stand in two to four circles, are fused to form a short tube and the corolla lobes are at least as long as the corolla tube. There are 20 to 35 free, fertile stamens in three circles . The two carpels are a top permanent ovary grown. The two styles are only fused at the base, with heady scars . The stone fruits contain a core, which consists of four seeds.
