Horace Peter Bailey (born July 3, 1881 in Derby , † August 1, 1960 in Langford ) was an English football goalkeeper .

In his time, Bailey was considered an outstanding amateur goalkeeper and played a total of eleven times for the English national football team of amateurs and won the gold medal at the 1908 Olympic football tournament with them .

In 1908 he completed a total of five missions for the senior national team in his country. There were only 89 days between his debut on March 16 against Wales in the British Home Championship 1907/08 and his last appearance against Bohemia on June 13. He won all five games with the national team and conceded only three goals.

At the club level he began his career in 1899 with Derby County . From 1901 to late 1902 he played in Crich before joining Ripley Athletics. In 1905 he moved to Leicester Imperial, which he left again in January 1907 to join Leicester Fosse . Until April 1910 he played at Fosse and came to 68 league appearances. After half a year back at Derby County, he moved to FC Stoke , for which he only played three months and then joined Birmingham FC in February 1911 , where he also ended his career.

The amateur soccer player was employed by a British railway company.
