Horace Günter
Horace Günter (born August 19, 1868 in Hanover , † 1946 in Nienburg / Weser ) was a German painter and especially portrait painter .
life and work
Little research has been done on the biography of Horace Günter, who was born in Hanover shortly before the founding of the German Empire . The sculptor Ernst Bandel formed the head of the boy Horace in a size of 27 cm around 1870, which was attached as a building fragment from the building at Marienstraße 17 and later came into the possession of the Hanover Historical Museum . The back of the head showed breakouts, but these were restored.
Also in the possession of the Historical Museum is an oil painting by Günters measuring 89 × 115 cm, which shows a lively scene at the ship landing stage that was put into operation in 1936 on the Maschsee , which opened in the same year .
