Horacio Pagani
Horacio Pagani (born November 10, 1955 in Casilda ) is the Argentine founder of the Italian super sports car manufacturer Pagani Automobili .
Personal life
Horacio Pagani was born in Casilda ( Argentina ) as the son of an Argentine baker with Italian ancestors. He discovered his love for automobiles in his early childhood when he made his first own creations out of balsa wood. Some of these models can still be seen in the Pagani Automobili showroom today. In 1983 Pagani emigrated to Italy to fulfill his dream of building his own super sports car. Pagani pursues the hobby of collecting cars and owns u. A. several Porsche models such as the Carrera GT , the 918 Spyder and the Cayman GT4 . He also owns a Ford GT .
Career
Gaining a foothold in Italy, he soon became chief engineer at Lamborghini and created a. A. the concept for the Lamborghini Countach Evoluzione . During this work he tried to convince Lamborghini to invest in its own autoclave in order to boost the production and use of carbon components in the company. The company's answer to this was that neither its competitor Ferrari had its own autoclave, nor did Lamborghini need one itself. As a result, Pagani bought an autoclave on his own in 1987 and parted ways with Lamborghini in 1991 in order to set up a business with Modena Design, which was supposed to manufacture said carbon components. Even today, Modena Design has high-ranking clients such as Ferrari, Daimler and Aprilia in motorsport.
Pagani also founded his company Pagani Automobili SpA in 1992 in order to concretise the desire for super sports car production. The first car produced by Pagani was the Zonda , which took seven years to develop. Various special models based on the Zonda were created. The successor model of the Zonda was the Huayra in 2011 , which was named after the Inca wind god, Huayra Tata.
