Horst-Dieter Krus

Horst-Dieter Krus (born December 23, 1949 on the Abbenburg, Brakel , Höxter district ; † June 8, 2018 ) was a German author, local history researcher and archivist.

Life

After studying geography and English at the University of Göttingen , he initially worked on a number of local history projects and then until his retirement as a district archivist in the Höxter district. In this function he was also editor of the district yearbook. In addition, he was the home area manager of the local home nurses for the Hochstift Paderborn and the Corveyer Land .

In addition to the city history monographs, his works and research on the Jewish beech are known. He researched in detail and scientifically based the historical circumstances in which the literary work Die Judenbuche by Annette von Droste-Hülshoff was created. He was also the initiator of the Urdorf Museum in Bellersen . For the 1000th anniversary of his hometown Bellersen in 2015, Krus published his 620-page work News from B. Small Chronicle of the Village of Bellersen . In 2016 his exhibition with the results of the investigations into the historical background of the Jewish beech was opened in the Werkhaus Bellersen.
