Horst-Günter Wagner

Horst-Günter Wagner (born May 19, 1935 in Chemnitz ) is a German geographer. From 1975 to 2000 he was a professor at the University of Würzburg .

Life

In 1962 Wagner studied geography, history and German for a higher teaching post. He received his doctorate in 1960 under Horst Mensching and Julius Büdel , and his habilitation took place in 1967 at the TU Hannover . After that, Wagner was Professor of Geography at Kiel University from 1970 to 1975 . From 1975 to 2000 he held the Chair of Economic Geography at the University of Würzburg .

His areas of work are economic geography in the Mediterranean, in North and West Africa, in the Caucasus region and in Lower Franconia.
