Horst Aschermann
Horst Aschermann (born April 27, 1932 in Ilmenau ; † July 20, 2005 in Purkersdorf ) was a sculptor and professor of art.
Life
Aschermann grew up in Ilmenau. After the Second World War he left the newly founded GDR and emigrated to Austria. He began studying sculpture at the University of Applied Arts Vienna . In the following time he created works of art in his hometown Purkersdorf, which he moved to after graduating. Later he also carried out assignments in Vienna and abroad, such as the portal of the Austrian Embassy in Dakar (Senegal). In 1987 he finally became a professor.
