Horst Bohatschek

Horst Bohatschek (born June 20, 1943 in Berlin ; † February 22, 2015 in Löhne ) was a German glass painter . He designed numerous stained glass windows .

Life

Bohatschek was born in Berlin in 1943. He lived in wages for most of his life. He learned the lead laser trade from his father Heinz. From 1968 he worked as a freelance artist. Until 1980 he worked in the plaster room of the Gohfeld artist Resl Schröder-Lechner. Only in 1997 was he able to set up a studio in his own house after an inheritance.

Horst Bohatschek designed especially stained glass, for example in the Free Church Bad Oeynhausen Christ Church , the Jubilate Church (Bonneberg) or the Christ Church of the Evangelical Free Church congregation Gütersloh . He was also active for public clients: in 1991, for example, in the train station in his hometown of Löhne (Westphalia), he designed the leaded glazing of the windows above the main entrance. It is entitled "Four Elements".

He died in 2015 at the age of 71.
