Bonneberg Church

The Jubilate Church in Bonneberg , a village in the Valdorf district of the city of Vlotho , was the parish church of the Evangelical Lutheran Parish of Bonneberg, which belonged to the Vlotho parish of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia , and is now a church of the united parish of Exter-Bonneberg.

History and equipment

The Jubilate Church was consecrated on Jubilate , the third Sunday after Easter, in 1957 . First, she was a daughter church of the Evangelical Church Valdorf to whose territory the peasantry Bonneberg had heard before. In 1970 the parish of Bonneberg was founded by parish .

The Jubilate Church was renovated in 1979 and 1988. In 1988, windows designed by Horst Bohatschek were installed. They show the birth, passion and resurrection of Christ , the four evangelists and Old Testament motifs. The organ was built by Steinmann in 1979 . The three bells in the tower are from the year of construction 1957.

The parishes of Exter and Bonneberg in Vlotho were independent until August 31, 2019. The decline in church members also had an impact in the city of Vlotho. The two parishes merged on September 1, 2019 to form the common parish of Exter-Bonneberg. The other church services are held alternately in the respective churches, currently being led by the pastor from Exteran. The Bonnebergers had not had their own pastor for some time. This task was taken over by the supervisors of the neighboring church communities.
