Horst Dumke

Horst Dumke (born February 23, 1925 as Herbert Dumke in Hornhausen , Bördekreis , Saxony-Anhalt ) is a former German football player.

He played at Union Hornhausen until July 1949, where he won the title of district champion with the 1st men's team and was promoted to the district class. He moved to Eintracht Braunschweig , where he was in midfield in the Oberliga Nord . He was used five times under Eintracht coach "Hanne" Vogel .

In the club history of TSV Hornhausen it is mentioned that a number of Hornhauser players made the leap into higher-class teams in Lower Saxony or the GDR league and upper league, including Herbert Dumke, who also played at Eintracht Braunschweig and Bielefeld . Herbert Dumke was also known as the "red fox" because of his hair color.
