Horst Engelhardt

Horst Engelhardt (born February 10, 1951 in Leuben ; † August 22, 2014 in Eichwerder ) was a German sculptor.

Life

After attending the Polytechnic High School , Engelhardt received training as a stonemason in Meißen and Dresden. In addition to his job, he did evening studies at the University of Fine Arts in Dresden from 1969 to 1970 . From 1971 to 1976 he studied sculpture there with Walter Arnold , Helmut Heinze and Gerd Jaeger . He then worked as a freelance sculptor in the former Jäckelsbruch manor in Eichwerder near Wriezen. From 1979 to 1982 Engelhardt was a master student with Werner Stötzer at the Academy of the Arts in the GDR . Until his death he worked again as a sculptor in Eichwerder. Engelhardt's son Jörg is also a sculptor.

Engelhardt's grave is in the Eichwerder cemetery.
