Horst Gundlach (civil engineer)

Horst Gundlach (* 1934 in Erfurt ) is a German civil engineer and non-fiction author.

Career

Horst Gundlach was born in the state capital of Thuringia and grew up in Bad Langensalza , where he attended elementary and high school until 1950. From 1951 to 1953 he was at the secondary school in Jena and then he studied building material process engineering in Weimar .

In 1960 Horst Gundlach left the GDR and worked in the building materials industry in the FRG. In 1967 he received his doctorate from the Clausthal mining academy as Dr.-Ing. The topic of his dissertation is investigations into the influence of the strength of steam-hardened calcium silicate products .

In 1973 the standard work steam-hardened building materials he wrote was published by Bauverlag Wiesbaden / Berlin. From 1984 Horst Gundlach worked as a freelance management consultant and from 1993 as owner and managing director of a research institute in Weimar. He is a sworn expert and appraiser, his focus is on raw and building materials from the field of stones and earth.

In his spare time he published several non-fiction books on the German-German border in the southern Harz, border surveillance in the GDR and on his former hometown Bad Langensalza , initially self-published and then at the Rockstuhl publishing house in Bad Langensalza / Thuringia.
