Horst Harnischfeger

Horst Harnischfeger (born March 20, 1938 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German lawyer.

Career

After graduating from high school in Frankfurt, he studied law and political science in Frankfurt, Lausanne and Hamburg, where he received his doctorate in 1969. jur. PhD. He initially worked at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development . In 1970 he first moved to the planning department of the Federal Ministry of Education and Science and in the same year took over the management of the planning department of the Senator for Schools in Berlin.

In 1975 he was promoted to the board of directors of the Goethe Institute . From 1976 to 1996 and 2003 he was Secretary General of the Goethe Institute. Today he teaches foreign cultural policy at the University of Konstanz .
