Horst Klee (politician)
Horst Johann Klee (born November 17, 1939 in Wiesbaden ) is a Hessian politician ( CDU ) who was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1993 to 2019 .
education and profession
After his secondary school leaving certificate in 1956, Horst Klee completed an apprenticeship as a gardener, which he completed in 1958. He then worked as a gardener from 1958 to 1963, and in 1963 to 1966 he studied at the Hessian teaching and research institute for fruit, wine and horticulture in Geisenheim , where he became a horticultural engineer. Since 1966 he has been working for the Wiesbaden gardening center, which he has been managing director since 1969.
Horst Klee is Catholic, widowed and has one child.
politics
Klee has been politically active since joining the CDU in 1969. In the CDU, he has been the district chairman of the CDU Wiesbaden since 1989 and district chairman of the CDU West Hesse since 1997, as well as a member of the state board since 1992 and of the CDU Hesse's executive committee since 1998 . In terms of local politics, he was city councilor in Wiesbaden for over 20 years (1972 to 1995), including deputy city councilor from 1979 to 1995. In addition, he was a member of the Wiesbaden-Biebrich local advisory board from 1972 to 1997, where he was mayor from 1977 to 1985 and 1993 to 1997.
Klee had been a member of the state parliament since July 23, 1993. He was initially a directly elected member of the Wiesbaden III constituency since the state elections in 1995 and, after the redistribution of the Wiesbaden constituencies for the 2008 state elections, of the Wiesbaden II constituency .
He was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon in 2002 and 1st class in 2016.
In the state parliament he had been chairman of the interior committee since January 17, 2006, of which he was deputy chairman from April 5, 2003 to January 17, 2006. Klee was also a member of the council of elders, the main committee, the state personnel commission and the state sports conference.
Klee was the age president of the 17th, 18th and 19th Hessian state parliaments. He did not run for the 2018 state election .
Other offices
As an avid footballer, Horst Klee has been chairman of the Biebrich football club since 1971 and a member of the board of the Biebrich clubs and associations since 1983.
