Horst Koch (soccer player)

Horst-Dieter Koch (born March 13, 1943 ) is a former German football player who was represented in the second division football of the GDR with SG Dynamo Schwerin in the 1960s and 1970s .

Athletic career

Until 1963 Horst-Dieter Koch played with the SC Traktor Schwerin in the third class II. DDR league . After the 1963/63 season, the II. GDR League was discontinued and the SC tractor was incorporated into the now third-class district league Schwerin . Koch took this as an opportunity to switch to the Schwerin Police Sports Association Dynamo Schwerin in the second-rate GDR league . In the 1963/64 season Koch was initially only used in four of the 30 league games, but already demonstrated his accuracy with his three goals. Until 1974 he was a regular at SG Dynamo. Within ten seasons he came in 272 league games on another 259 missions, in which he scored 68 goals. He was one of the goalscorers in every season, and in the seasons 1965/66, 1968/69, 1970/71 and 1971/72 he played all point games. After he ended his career as a competitive footballer in 1974 at the age of 31, he became a trainer at Dynamo Schwerin in 1976. He initially worked in the youth field, from 1980 to 1982 he coached the GDR league team with Horst Löhle.
