Horst Kortlang (born March 19, 1948 in Ipwege , municipality of Rastede ) is a German politician of the FDP and has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2013 . He is the spokesman for the environment, energy and climate protection of the FDP parliamentary group.

Kortlang is a master car electrician. He worked for the German Armed Forces for over forty years as a workshop master and safety technician. Kortlang is deputy chairman of the FDP district association in the Wesermarsch district and vice chairman of the FDP district association in Oldenburg. For his party he has been a member of the city council of Elsfleth since 1989 , where he was deputy mayor from 1996 to 2008 and has been parliamentary group chairman since 2008. From 2006 to 2016 he was a member of the district council, from 2010 to 2011 he was deputy district administrator. He was chairman of the shareholders 'meeting of the Maritime Competence Center and the shareholders' meeting of economic development and a member of the association meeting of the OOWV (Oldenburg Ostfriesischer Wasserverband).

He is a member of ver.di, the soldiers' comradeship Moorriem (chairman until 2016), SoVD (local chairman Elsfleth). For almost 25 years he has been in charge of the Moorriemer squeeze chest.

Kortlang is the father of two adult sons.
