Ipwege is part of the municipality of Rastede in the Ammerland district .

history

Ipwege was originally an Esch settlement and is first mentioned in 1428. The settlement initially belonged to Hausvogteiplatz Oldenburg , later along with Buttel, Hobrink and Ipwegermoor the peasantry Wahnbek . Due to the administrative reform of 1933, Wahnbek, Ipwege and Ipwegermoor came to the municipality of Rastede in the district of Ammerland. The Janßen, Hillen and Röben families are the three old Ipweger Hausmann families.

These family names first appear in 1619, before only first names were used. The three courtyards are ancient. The owner of the Janßenhof was Junkermeier; the other two farms were already in the possession of the Count of Oldenburg in 1478.

The Ipweger Moor , in which there are numerous nature reserves , is a popular destination for Rasteder and Oldenburgers.

Economy and Infrastructure

The Ipwege-Wahnbek fire brigade, which has been in existence since 1933 and has its depot in Wahnbek, has been a base fire brigade since 2003.

The bus connection to Ipweg is ensured by bus route 323 from Oldenburger Verkehr und Wasser GmbH ; Boarding is possible in the village of Wahnbek, which merges seamlessly into Ipwege. Ipwege is in the immediate vicinity of the Oldenburg-Nord motorway junction; the junction to the A 29 and A 293 motorways is in the neighboring village of Loy . The station Ipwege was on the railway line Oldenburg-Brake , which since the 1990s shut down is. Passenger traffic ended in 1976.

education

From 1911 to 1966 there was a one-class school. Today Ipweges children attend kindergarten and elementary school in the neighboring village of Wahnbek.
