Horst Krautzig (born June 6, 1952 in Sielow ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) in the DDR-Oberliga and in the UEFA Cup .

Career

Krautzig played in his youth in the youth departments of SG Sielow and BSG Energie Cottbus. In the 1969/70 season he made his debut at the age of 17 when he was used on May 10, 1970 in a 1-1 draw against BFC Dynamo II. In the following season 1970/71 Krautzig had established himself and graduated from 23 parties. He also scored a goal. At the end of 1971 he played because of military service for ASG Vorwärts Cottbus before he was delegated to the upper division FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder) in 1972. Krautzig was soon part of the permanent staff there. He made his debut in the Oberliga season 1972/73 on September 16, 1972, when he was substituted on the first day of the game in a 2-2 draw against Hansa Rostock for Wolfgang Strübing in the 78th minute of the game. He scored his first goal against Dynamo Dresden on May 12, 1973, when he scored 2-1 in the 58th minute. Nevertheless, Frankfurt lost in the end 2: 3. In the following seasons too, Krautzig made over 20 appearances. In the 1974/75 season he played with Frankfurt in the UEFA Cup. He completed both games of the first round against Juventus Turin . In 1976 Krautzig moved back to BSG Energie Cottbus, which played in the GDR league. In the first season 1976/77 he became a top scorer with eight goals in 16 games. In 1977/78 there were still five goals in 16 games. At the same time he scored four goals in five games in the FDGB Cup . 1979 Krautzig returned to FC Vorwärts Frankfurt (Oder). This was followed by further appearances as a regular player until 1983. At the 1980/81 UEFA Cup , he prevailed with Frankfurt in the first round against Ballymena United . In the second round, however, they had to admit defeat to VfB Stuttgart , who won the first leg 5-1 and the second leg 1-2. Krautzig was used in all four games and scored twice, including the consolation goal at 5: 1. In 1983 he switched again to Energie Cottbus, but only had nine missions in 1983/84 and eleven in 1984/85 . In this he did not score. In 1985 Krautzig went to BSG Lok RAW Cottbus, where he ended his career in 1989.

Krautzig worked as head coach at BSG Lok RAW Cottbus. He then trained several youth teams at Energie Cottbus.
