Horst Müller (journalist)

Horst Müller (* 1952 in Einbeck ) is a German journalist and former manager . He teaches as a professor for editorial practice at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.

Life

Müller grew up in Einbeck in Lower Saxony, where he trained as an industrial clerk. Several professional positions followed at the TUI tourism group before Müller switched to the Bauer publishing group in 1981 . There he built up the “AVG Reise-Service” reader's travel department, and later became managing director of the Bauer subsidiary “Luna-Luna Freizeit GmbH”. In 1988, at the age of 35, he completed an internship at the private radio station Radio Schleswig-Holstein (R.SH) . In the following years he became a correspondent for the Hamburg area. From 1993 to 1998 he built the private radio station Antenne MV as managing director and program directoron. In 1999, Müller became a manager at the Bauer publishing group in Munich, where he was, among other things, property manager for Bravo Sport and publishing manager for Playboy Germany .

In 2003 he obtained his Master of Business Administration at the Sales Manager Academy in Vienna . He has been teaching at Mittweida University since April 2004 . His specialist areas include journalistic work, media studies and media business administration, media practice in print and online media as well as personnel management.

Müller is married to the journalist Inge Seibel-Müller and lives with a daughter in Hamburg .

Müller runs the blogmedien.de blog and occasionally publishes in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , the Süddeutsche Zeitung and various specialist media. He is also the author of specialist books on media topics:
