Horst Poganaz

Horst Poganaz (born November 3, 1938 in Gelsenkirchen ) is a German former football player who was active as a professional for Eintracht Trier and Rot-Weiß Oberhausen . From March 2002 to December 2014 he was a member of the FC Schalke 04 supervisory board .

Career

Born in Gelsenkirchen, Poganaz joined FC Schalke 04 at the age of twelve. Here he went through the youth classes up to the A-youth, with which he was West German champion in 1958. In addition to his footballing career, Poganaz did an apprenticeship and from 1957 worked as a machinist at the Graf Bismarck colliery . The 1.93 meter tall striker was never appointed to the first team of the “Knappen” . In 1960 he moved to Eintracht Trier , for which he competed in the Oberliga Südwest . He made his debut on the first round match day, August 14, 1960, at the home game against TuS Neuendorf in the Oberliga Südwest.
