Horst Seffrin (born January 20, 1921 in Darmstadt ; † March 20, 2007 ) was a German local politician ( SPD ), mayor , social and health department and city ​​councilor .

Horst Seffrin was a city councilor in Darmstadt from 1956 to 1970. From 1970 to 1983 he was mayor of Darmstadt. In addition, Seffrin was also the social and health department head of Darmstadt. He died on March 20, 2007 at the age of 86.

Awards and honors

The Goethe University Frankfurt awarded Seffrin an honorary doctorate in medicine . The city of Darmstadt honored him in 1983 (according to other information in 1993) with their highest honor, the Silver Merit Plaque.

The green area in front of the Darmstadt women's clinic was named after him ("Horst-Seffrin-Anlage").
