Horst Wenzel (mathematician)

Horst Klaus Gerhard Wenzel (born August 26, 1922 in Breslau ; † December 8, 2013 in Dresden ) was a German mathematician .

Life

After receiving his doctorate in 1954 ( a function-theoretical treatment of the biquadratic equation ) with Walter Brödel at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena . and his habilitation in 1961 on the function-theoretical treatment of buckling problems , he was appointed professor at the TU Dresden , where he mainly dealt with analysis . In 1987 he retired .

Horst Wenzel was buried in the Trinity cemetery in Dresden.
