Horst Wrobel
Horst Wrobel (born March 17, 1935 in Hindenburg (then Upper Silesia )) is a designer . He lived in Braunschweig with his wife Renate in the 1950s . From there, he and his family founded the International Mill Museum there in 1974 in the heath town of Suhlendorf ( Uelzen district ) . When this became too small, they opened the International Wind and Watermill Museum in Gifhorn in 1980 . Later, Wrobel founded the cultural institute "Die Brücke" there with the support of well-known domestic and foreign politicians and church representatives.
On August 20, 2007, Wrobel received the Cross of Merit on Ribbon from the State of Lower Saxony .
