The Horteriset is an expansive and icy hill in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . In Hoelfjella it rises 21 km west of the southern part of the Weyprechtberge .
The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named the hill, mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
