JV Horto

João Victor "JV" Horto (born September 29, 1990 in Londrina ) is a former Brazilian automobile racing driver .

Career

Horto began his motorsport career in karting , where he was active until 2008. In 2009 he switched to formula racing and competed in North America. He took part in the American Formula BMW for Team Apex . With a second place as the best result, he finished the season in seventh place overall. Internally, he was defeated by his teammate James Kovacic , who was fifth. In 2010, Horto joined the Apex team in the Star Mazda Series . He finished four races on the podium and was seventh overall. Internally, he was beaten by his teammate Jorge Goncalvez , who finished fourth. In 2011, Horto contested his second Star Mazda season for Juncos Racing . In the season he achieved his first win and he improved to fourth championship place. He was the best driver on his team that season.

In 2012 Horto switched to Indy Lights , where he also competed for Juncos Racing. However, it was only used in three races. He once achieved the fastest race lap. With two seventh places as the best results, he was 15th in the overall classification.
