Ingrid Thyssen
Ingrid Thyssen , also Ingrid Anna Thyssen (born January 9, 1956 in Aachen ) is a former German javelin thrower .
At the European Athletics Championships she was seventh in Prague in 1978 and ninth in Athens in 1982 .
In 1983 she was eliminated at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in qualifying, and in 1984 she was sixth at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles .
A seventh place at the 1986 European Championships in Stuttgart was followed by a ninth place at the 1987 World Championships in Rome and an eighth place at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. She finished her international career with a sixth place at the European Championships in Split in 1990 .
She was German champion eight times (1979-1984, 1987, 1988) and four times German runner-up (1976, 1978, 1986, 1989).
Ingrid Thyssen began her sports career at Aachener TG and later started for ASV Köln and from 1978 for LG Bayer Leverkusen .
After finishing her competitive sports career, she worked as a junior coach at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Occasionally she also competed in competitions. In 2006 she became German senior javelin champion in the W50 age group with a new world record distance of 44.20 m.
