Hot Jumpin '6 is a German rock' n 'roll band of seven from Berlin .

history

The band was founded in May 2009 in Berlin. After a two-month search phase, the line-up consisting of vocals , guitar , piano , double bass , drums , tenor saxophone and baritone saxophone was determined.

The first public appearance took place in December 2009. In 2012, the then singer Oliver Langner left the band. With the new singer Joey JB Carter, Hot Jumpin '6 started a new beginning.

In the next two years there were some line-up changes in the band, especially with the brass section. In 2014 the band decided to separate vocals and guitar, which had previously both been played by Joey JB Carter. For this reason the guitarist Spike Arrow came to the band. The band agreed to continue working under the name Hot Jumpin '6, although there were now 7 musicians on board.

Since then, Hot Jumpin '6 has made many gigs across Europe, including Switzerland , Germany , Italy , Austria , the Netherlands , Hungary and France .

In March 2015, Hot Jumpin '6 released their debut album That's Us ...! on the Part Records label .

style

Influenced by rock 'n' roll of the 1940s and 1950s, the musical style of Hot Jumpin '6 can be described as brass-heavy jump blues , rhythm ' n ' blues and early rock' n 'roll, but also rockabilly and 60's soul find influence in their music.

The musical repertoire of Hot Jumpin '6 consists of original compositions, which are written by Joey JB Carter and Sascha "Real Gone" Körner and well-chosen cover versions.
