The Hovdeknattane ( Norwegian for hill rock ) are rocky outcrops in Queen Maud Land, East Antarctica . In the Wohlthatmassiv they rise north of the Skeidshovden from the Hovdebrekka glacier field .

The first aerial photographs were taken during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named them, mapped them on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
