Howie B (2007)

Howie B (* 1963 in Glasgow , Scotland ; full name Howard Bernstein ) is a British DJ , musician and record producer . He is considered an important representative of trip-hop .

Life

Howie B first made a name for himself as a DJ in London's nightlife and as a collaborator in music productions before he began producing his own pieces of music in the early 1990s. In his pieces of music he fused influences from soul , hip-hop , house , jazz and funk .

His debut album Breathe In was released in 1993 as a split EP with Fat on his own label Pussyfoot Records . Further publications on Mo 'Wax , Polydor and One Little Indian Records followed.

In the following years he increasingly turned to music production. Among other things, he produced albums and individual pieces of music for Skylab , Björk , Tricky and U2 .

In 1996 his first album Music for Babies was released . The second album Turn the Dark Off followed in 1997, also on Polydor. Since 2008 he has worked several times with the Italian funk rock band Casino Royale .
