Howard Brockway

Howard A. Brockway (born November 22, 1870 in Brooklyn , New York City , † February 20, 1951 in New York City) was an American composer.

Brockway studied composition with Otis Bardwell Boise and piano with the court pianist Heinrich Barth in Berlin . He then worked as a piano teacher and composer in New York and Baltimore .

He composed a symphony , a suite , symphonic ballads, a piano concerto, chamber music works, choirs and songs .

In 1910 he was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Letters .
