Hoya Serpens is a plant of the genus of wax flowers ( Hoya ) of the subfamily of asclepiadoideae (Asclepiadoideae).

features

Hoya serpens forms short, creeping, sparsely hairy shoots that have nodes with roots. The little hairy leaf blades are approximately round to slightly oval or elliptical they are up to 15 mm long and 12 mm wide. The top shows a dull green color, the bottom is a little lighter. They sit on about 4 mm stems. The inflorescence is pendulous and has up to eight flowers. The stalk of the inflorescence is up to 3.5 cm long and is not hairy. The flower stalks are up to 2 cm long. The corolla has a diameter of about 1.5 cm and is white to slightly green. The crown lobes are pointed and measure 5 × 3 mm. The edges are bent over; they are densely hairy inside. The also white secondary crown has a diameter of 7 mm and is 3 mm high. The staminale corolla lobes are elliptical, 3.5 mm long and 2 mm wide. The inner extension is pointed and colored dark pink, the outer extension oval, tapering to a point and slightly curved upwards.

Geographical occurrence

The species probably only occurs originally in Nepal and India ( Sikkim ). An isolated occurrence in Australia ( Queensland ) is declared as anthropogenic naturalization.
