Hsu Shu-ching

Hsu Shu-ching ( Chinese  許 淑 淨  /  许 淑 净 , Pinyin Xǔ Shūjìng ; born May 9, 1991 ) in Yunlin , Taiwan , is a Taiwanese weightlifter .

Career

In the 53 kg class of women, Shu-ching achieved the gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics (after Sülfija Tschinschanlo's disqualification for doping reasons ) with a duel score of 219 kg, reaching 96 kg in snatch and 123 kg in push . The same duel was achieved by Cristina Iovu from Moldova (who was later also disqualified) , but she was 380 g heavier and thus came third.

Hsu won the 2012 Asian Championships with 220 kg (97 kg + 123 kg) and the 2014 Asian Games with 233 kg (101 kg + 132 kg), setting the world record for Kazakh Zulfiya Chinshanlo .

At the 2016 Summer Olympics she achieved her greatest success; with 212 kg in a duel she won the gold medal.

Her internationally good placements also include 4th place at the 2011 World Weightlifting Championships in Paris with 213 kg (93 kg + 120 kg) and 6th place at the 2010 Asian Games with 196 kg (88 kg + 108 kg).
