Huỳnh Tấn Phát (* 1913 with Mỹ Tho ; † September 30, 1989 in Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh (Hồ Chí Minh City) ) was a South Vietnamese politician and the only South Vietnamese president between the communist takeover and reunification.

Engaged in the struggle for freedom since the 1930s, he joined the Communist Party of Vietnam in 1959 and he was General Secretary of the Central Committee of the National Liberation Front from 1964 to 1966 and, according to him, President of its Provisional Revolutionary Government in 1969. With the surrender of the last non-communist South Vietnamese President Dương Văn Minh in 1975, Huỳnh Tấn Phát became president of the Republic of South Vietnam, which was controlled by communist North Vietnam until reunification in 1976 . From 1976 to 1982 he was Deputy Prime Minister of the United Vietnam and then became Vice President of the State Council.
