Huang Liping

Huang Liping ( Chinese  黄力平 , Pinyin Huáng Liping , born January 1972 in Wuhan , Hubei , China ) is a former Chinese gymnast and currently competition judges in gymnastics.

Career

Huang Liping began as an amateur in 1978 , joined the Hubei Province team in 1985, and was elected to the Chinese national gymnastics team the following year. In 1993 he won the gymnastics discipline with the team at the national gymnastics championships. He was also victorious in the individual all-around and also won on the horizontal bar and parallel bars . This was followed by triumphs at some gymnastics world championships as group and individual winners. At the 1996 Olympic Games , he won the silver medal with the Chinese gymnastics team.

Resignation and competition judge

After retiring from the national team, he passed the competition judge examination in 1996 and became the youngest gymnastics judge in China. In 1998 he became national coach of the gymnast. That same year he was replaced by Li Ning .

At the 2008 Olympic Games , Huang Liping was elected to represent all competition judges to take the judges' Olympic oath at the opening ceremony in Beijing's National Stadium.
