The Hubenberg is 415.1 m above sea level. NN high mountain in the Thuringian Rhön in the area of the municipality Buttlar , about 2 km northeast of the center.
For decades on the Hubenberg, early Iron Age shards have been recovered during forest work near the peaks, as well as graters and other small finds. The settlement of the mountain plateau during this time is thus documented, fortifications have not yet been proven beyond doubt. The Hubenberg has been designated as a ground monument .
The Hubenberg is also part of the Natura 2000 project area No. 078 "Hubenberg-Michelsberg-Auewäldchen".
