The Ölbergshöhe near Bad Suderode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt is 320.6 m above sea level. NHN high foothills of the Ramberg ridge in the Harz low mountain range .
Geographical location
The Ölbergshöhe is located in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park as the northern foothills of the Ramberg granite massif . It rises directly south of Bad Suderode and a little southwest of Gernrode (both are districts of Quedlinburg ) between the Kaltetalbach in the west and the Hagentalbach in the east. Its north-north-westerly mountain spur is the slightly lower Schwedderberg .
Prussian Tower and hiking
The Prussian Tower is located on the Schwedderberg mountain spur and offers a view of Bad Suderode and Gernrode and across to the Brocken.
The European long-distance hiking trail E11 runs over the northern flank of Ölbergshöhe and Schwedderberg in the Bad Suderode – Gernrode section . Crossing this path, coming from the spa gardens in Bad Suderode , you get to both elevations on a rather steep path and thus to the Prussian Tower . The tower is included as no. 185 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin. The stone salt lick from 1573 is located on the Ölbergshöhe .
