Bad Suderode health resort
The Bad Suderode health resort is a listed health resort in the Bad Suderode district of the city of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located at the southern end of Bad Suderode's location in the Cold Valley at the foot of the Schwedderberg . It is registered as a health resort in the local register of monuments.
Architecture and history
The spa was built in the course of the development of the place into a spa after a calcium source had been rediscovered in 1819 . Former mining facilities, in particular for dewatering, were converted for therapeutic purposes. Remnants of mining use include the Lessing cave and the zwieback cave. The spa park was laid out in the middle of the 19th century. In 1911 Suderode became a spa. As early as 1910, an inhalatorium was built in the spa gardens to atomize the Solle. In 1934 the spa park was rebuilt.
The spa park is spacious and was designed in the form of an English landscape park. In the southern part of the park through which the Kaltentalbach flows, it has the character of a forest. At the south end there is a half-timbered inn.
The calcium source is in the form of a monopteros built in 1934 , the Behringer fountain. The largest building in the complex is the Kurhaus with its lavishly designed loggias . To the west of the Kurhaus, a flight of stairs runs a clear way up the Schwedderberg.
In the southern part of the complex there is a historical boundary stone , which is registered in the monument register and marked the border between the former German states of Prussia and Anhalt . There are other boundary stones in the park area. In addition, a rock garden was created there.
In 1913 a peace oak was planted in the northern part of the complex. On a memorial stone next to the oak is the inscription Friedenseiche 1813 + 1913 set 1913 To commemorate the war of liberation and to warn everyone to keep the peace . In 2001, near the Kurhaus in the northern part, the Pohl oak was planted in memory of the Bad Suderöder hiking warden Günter Pohl . A memorial stone explains their meaning.
