The European long-distance hiking trail E11 is a west-east route that is around 2500 km long. The European long-distance hiking trail runs from Western Europe mainly through Central European lowlands to Eastern Europe .

Course in the Netherlands (355 km)

The long-distance hiking trail runs as the Dutch “Marskramerpad” from Scheveningen in The Hague via Leiden , Amersfoort , Deventer and Oldenzaal to Bad Bentheim . Just before the Bentheim suburb of Gildehaus , the E11 reaches Germany.

Course in Germany (996 km)

Now the Töddenweg is followed, whose next stations are Rheine , Mettingen and finally Osnabrück , where the Töddenweg ends at the main station .

The section from Deventer to Osnabrück is offered by EUREGIO as a trading route .

The Weser breakthrough at Porta Westfalica

Subsequently, the Wittekindsweg leads the E11 past Bad Essen until it reaches the Weser at Porta Westfalica . The Wiehengebirge is crossed on this section .

In Minden is Weserbergland happened to the further course continue on Kleinenbremen , Hameln to Lauenstein pass on the Ith to come comb. You get to Seesen via Alfeld , Schildhorst and Bad Gandersheim . From Seesen, the hiker climbs into the Harz Mountains . Through the lowlands of the Saale and Elbe , the Süße See , Trotha , Petersberg , Görzig , Mosigkauer Heide , Dessau , Luisium and Wörlitz with its landscape park are touched. After crossing the Elbe near Coswig , the E11 now takes an approximately northerly direction. The next highlight is the Fläming , the Rabenstein Castle , Raben , the Hagelberg , Bad Belzig and the Lehnin Monastery will be passed before the path dives into the eastern Havelland . Places like Ferch , Caputh and the Templiner See as well as the state capital of Brandenburg, Potsdam follow on the further route .

At Buckow in Märkische Schweiz

The Potsdam park landscape, such as the Babelsberg and Klein Glienicke parks , are traversed and one reaches Berlin . The E11 approaches the center of Berlin from the southwest via the Berlin Grunewald . In an east-southeast direction, the hiker comes to Berlin-Friedrichshagen , Dahlwitz-Hoppegarten and Altlandsberg , both of which are already outside the capital. The route now leads to Märkische Schweiz , followed by Waldsieversdorf , Buckow and Neuhardenberg , Seelow and the Reitweiner Sporn . The path has reached the Oder here at Reitwein . Along the river you can get to Lebus , Frankfurt and Słubice on the eastern Polish bank.

Course in Poland (1,209 km)

The expanses of the Warthebruch lie in front of the hiker. The trail continues through Międzychód , Chojna , Szamotuły and after a few kilometers to Poznań . After Poznań the path runs through the Bromberg Heath, followed by Gniezno (Gnesen), Inowrocław (Hohensalza) and Toruń (Thorn). From Toruń the tour goes via Brodnica , Iława and Grunwald to Olsztyn (Allenstein). Masuria has been reached.

A connection across the Lithuanian or Russian border is planned.
