Hubert Gelhaus

Hubert Gelhaus (* 21st January 1950 in Friesoythe ) is a German teacher in retirement and author .

Life

Gelhaus attended the Clemens-August-Gymnasium Cloppenburg in Cloppenburg . He studied German and history in Freiburg im Breisgau . As a high school teacher, he taught at the Clemens-August-Gymnasium Cloppenburg from 1978 to 2014. In 1999 he received his doctorate from the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg . His doctoral thesis is entitled The Political-Social Milieu in Südoldenburg from 1803 to 1936 ; it was revised in 2001 and printed as a book with a larger edition. Volumes 5 and 6 of the book edition were added in 2003. Gelhaus is married and lives in Cloppenburg.

Shortly before his retirement, he founded the independent theater group “Studiobühne Cloppenburg” in 2010 after leading the theater company at the Clemens-August-Gymnasium for many years, where he directs. In March 2016, Gelhaus brought the tenth production of the Cloppenburg studio stage to the stage with Eine flew über Kuckucksnest .
