Hubert Hannich

Hubert Hannich (born August 23, 1906 ; last mentioned in 1990) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1950 to 1952 he was Minister and Member of the State Parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life

Hannich, a businessman by profession , worked as a book auditor from 1934. During the Second World War he had to do military service and in 1945 was taken prisoner by the Soviets .

After returning from captivity in 1947, he became a member of the CDU. From June 1950 he acted as chairman of the CDU district committee in Stendal . From 1950 to 1952 he was a member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt. When the government of Saxony-Anhalt was reorganized on November 24, 1950, Hannich was nominated by the CDU state executive as Minister for Trade and Supply and was elected by the state parliament at the suggestion of Prime Minister Werner Bruschke . He was the successor of Otto Kamp, who had fled to the Federal Republic of Germany, and was in office until the state of Saxony-Anhalt was dissolved in the summer of 1952. He then acted as deputy mayor and city councilor of the city of Halle (Saale) . In April 1959, the Lord Mayor of London , Sir Harold Gillett, received a delegation from the GDR for the first time , including Hannich. Hanich later worked as a legal advisor in Halle, was chairman of the revision committee of the CDU district board in Halle , member of a city district board of the Society for German-Soviet Friendship and a HO advisory board .

On his 75th birthday in August 1981 he was awarded the Otto Nuschke Medal of Honor of the CDU in gold. Hannich last lived in Halle-Silberhöhe .
