Hubert Knirsch
Hubert Knirsch (born September 29, 1961 ) is a German diplomat.
Life
Knirsch studied social sciences , administrative sciences and political sciences in Konstanz and Paris . He is married and has a daughter.
career
After graduating in administrative sciences, he went to the preparatory service for the higher foreign service in 1987 . He then worked from 1989 to 1992 at the German Embassy in Warsaw , Poland . From 1995 to 1998 Knirsch was deployed to the German Embassy in Washington . In 1998 he moved to the Federal Chancellery . 2001–2005 worked as deputy head of department in the Federal Foreign Office . He then went back to the German Embassy in Warsaw as head of the political department. From 2008 Knirsch was the office manager of the Federal President a. D. Richard von Weizsäcker . In 2011 he took over the department for international economic and financial policy at the Foreign Office. In 2014 he was appointed to the German Embassy in Moscow , Russia , and took over the management of the Political Department. Since September 2018, Knirsch has been the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Tbilisi , Georgia .
