Hubert Voraberger

Hubert Voraberger (born August 30, 1927 in Thalheim near Wels , † December 3, 1996 in Wels ) was an Austrian trade unionist and politician.

After attending elementary and secondary school, Voraberger completed an apprenticeship as a draftsman and subsequently worked in this profession. He joined the city of Wels in 1950 as a contract employee and became a civil servant and staff representative in 1959. In 1967 he took over the function of chairman of the staff representation of the Wels magistrate and in 1970 he was elected chairman of the union of municipal employees of Upper Austria.

After he had already become a member of the Socialist Youth in 1945 , he worked as a founding chairman of the Wels-Puchberg section and later became a consultant for the SPÖ district organization. As a result, he also took over the chairmanship of the Wels-Puchberg SPÖ section. From 1967 to 1989 he was a local councilor in Wels, from 1973 to February 17, 1976 member of the state parliament in Upper Austria and from February 24, 1976 to June 4, 1979, as the successor to Karl Bregartner, member of the national council . After leaving the National Council, Voraberger switched back to local politics as a city councilor in Wels, where he took over the social and housing department. Then Voraberger was Vice Mayor (Personnel and Housing Department) of Wels between 1985 and 1989.

Hubert Voraberger was married and had one child.
