Hubertus Josef Zdebel (born October 29, 1954 in Emmerich ) is a German politician ( Die Linke ). He is a member of the German Bundestag and was state spokesman for Die Linke Nordrhein-Westfalen from 2010 to 2012 .

Life

Zdebel studied sociology, political science, journalism and the Dutch language in Münster and Nijmegen without a degree. During his studies he was involved as a university advisor in the AStA at the University of Münster . In the 1980s and 1990s he worked as a journalist in Münster . Later he was the office manager of the state parliament member Rüdiger Sagel .

politics

Zdebel initially belonged to the Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen party and represented them in the Münster City Council from 1987 to 1989. From 2001 to 2009 he was head of the NRW state parliament office of Rüdiger Sagel . Like his employer Rüdiger Sagel, he switched to the party Die Linke in 2007 and was deputy district spokesman in Münster in 2008 and 2009, then from 2010 to 2012 together with Katharina Schwabedissen state spokesman for Die Linke Nordrhein-Westfalen .

He has been a member of the Münster-Hiltrup district council since 2009. In the federal election in 2013 , he received a mandate.

From 2014 to 2016 he was also a member of the German Bundestag in the function of a full commission member in the commission for the storage of highly radioactive waste (disposal commission) in accordance with Section 3 of the Site Selection Act .

In 2017 he was appointed to the supervisory board of the Federal Agency for Final Storage.

He was also re-elected to the German Bundestag in 2017 via the LEFT state list.
