Huckenham is a district of the municipality Bayerbach in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

The hamlet of Huckenham is located near the Rott, a little northwest of Bayerbach.
history
There is evidence of a chapel here as early as 1200, which belonged to the fortified manor of the nobles von Huckenham and their successors. The lords of Bayerbach-Kindlbach-Huckenham are traceable since the first decades of the 12th century in the entourage of the Counts of Ortenburg .
The place Huckenham later belonged to the Steinberg Obmannschaft in the Weng district of the Griesbach district court . After the community was formed at the beginning of the 19th century, it became part of the Steinberg community, which was merged with the Bayerbach community after its patrimonial court was dissolved.
Attractions
- Filial church St. Margaretha. The former castle chapel has a Romanesque nave, which was extended to the east and remodeled in late Gothic style around 1451/1468. The southern wall of the Romanesque complex still stands.
