The medial epicondyle , lateral epicondyle and olecranon form the Hueter line at the elbow

The Hueter triangle is an imaginary isosceles triangle that is used for orientation on the dorsal side of the elbow joint . When the arm is in the flexed position, the corner points of the triangle are formed by the medial epicondyle and lateral epicondyle of the humerus and the olecranon of the ulna . In the extended position, the so-called Hueter line is formed .

The structure of the Hueter triangle is changed by bone injuries or dislocations .

Hueter triangle and Hueter line are named after the German surgeon Carl Hueter (1838–1882).
