Jens Waschke

Jens Waschke (born December 2, 1974 in Bayreuth ) is a German anatomist , textbook author and professor of vegetative anatomy at LMU Munich .

Live and act

Waschke studied human medicine at the University of Würzburg and did his doctorate there in 2000 with Detlev Drenckhahn . In 2002 he was licensed as a doctor. From 2002 to 2008 he was an assistant at the Institute for Anatomy and Cell Biology at the University of Würzburg. Since 2005 he has been a specialist anatomist for the Anatomical Society . After completing his habilitation in anatomy and cell biology in 2007, he was appointed to a chair in anatomy and cell biology at the University of Würzburg in 2008 . In 2011, Waschke obtained the title of specialist in anatomy. In the same year he took over the chair for vegetative anatomy at the LMU Munich .

Jens Waschke conducts research in the field of cell biology on the regulation of the endothelial barrier and in permeability physiology on the permeability of blood vessels .

Waschke is one of the two editors of the Sobotta Anatomy Atlas and other textbooks on anatomy.

Awards

  • Albert Koelliker Teaching Award from the Medical Faculty of the University of Würzburg (2005)
  • Wolfgang Bargmann Prize of the Anatomical Society (2006)
