Hufnagel is a country band from Berlin .

history

The band was founded in 1979 by Peter Behrendt (violin, guitar, vocals), Manfred Müller (drums, percussion) and Frank Melkert (guitar, vocals). Inspired by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young , Bob Dylan , Johnny Cash and John Denver , they initially played as a cover band before they became more and more popular in the 1980s through their own productions.

In 1986 the band came to a temporary end when Behrendt switched to the band Earthwood Family . In this band he was touring as a violinist / fiddler at major festivals in Germany. Fans gave him the nickname "devil's violinist".

In spring 1989 Hufnagel was reorganized with Behrendt (violin, keyboard, vocals), Achim Krüger ( acoustic guitar , vocals) and Gerd Wagner (electric guitar, vocals). The release of the first sound carrier "Texastraum" with titles from our own production also increased its popularity quickly. A short time later, the band made guest appearances together with greats from the country scene at the time such as Truck Stop , Gunter Gabriel , Tom Astor , Western Union and Linda Feller at all of the major country music festivals as well as the largest trucker festivals in Germany. They gave television guest performances on RTL, ARD, MDR and Sat1.
