Hugh Raffles

Hugh Raffles (born 1958 in London , Great Britain ) is a British anthropologist , university professor and author .

Life

Raffles came from a Jewish family and grew up in London . He did his bachelor's degree at the University of Warwick in England and then went to the University of London , where he graduated with a Master of Arts . In 1989 he completed postgraduate studies at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies .

Raffles has lived in New York City since the early 1990s . He is there at The New School Professor for Anthropology and Life Studies .
